Pfft, Plunkett didn't invent the supine position. Check out these Japanese prints from 1612.

i bow to evidence; plunkett came to mind though as he shot the officer at a distance surpassing the normal range of the baker rifle from said position

Weeb.

To your point Bot is that Napoleon did not enjoy the rifle as it made it harder for him to maneuver his regiments and he didn't fully incorporate either. To his credit the Voltigeurs and the Grenadier a pied were some of the best Light infantry in Europe so I don't think he had too much to worry about.

I don't know Napoleon's reasons for not using rifles, but it may not have cost him too badly---Lt Col Sidney Beckwith of the 95th believed that when rifles were used as the British used them (in rigid formation and with prepared cartridges) they offered no real benefits over smoothbore weapons. He'd know, too.

The second image worries me more. Maybe the author was going for a karma sutra with muskets look. The first attempt at gun porn?

Sadly Napoleon never had to dealt with the balancing issues of games and the chaos/drama that comes with big scale organised internet games. I am sure the French light infantry will be just as good as the British but soldiers using Rifles will always have the edge unless they are balanced in such a way they are just light infantry with slower loading guns.

I mean I don't see the problem with a foreign Rifle regiment picking up the slack on the side of the French, the developers have hinted both sides will be getting some foreign volunteer regiments for the other infantry too.

He's supposed to be throwing himself to the ground and making a shot on impact, John Woo style. I guess that could have applications in self-defence, but the manual is also concerned with creating an art out of marksmanship.

I understand the need for balance but if Holdfast is going to have Cavalry then I don't see a problem with England only having rifles. we have to understand that Everytime I have been in with an event in NW with all the different specialties, I have only seen 2 regiments in NW repulse full heavy and Light Cav, KPR and LIR. These two are one of the most expierced marksmen in that game and they are a force to be reckoned with.
A conclusion I suppose would be why I love the Napoleonic era. as it involves rock paper scissors style and for once Tactics and weaponry were actually at a balance with one another.

Just messing. But yeah it was weird stationary poses and I couldn't figure out what he was trying to do in pic 2. So Blue's explanation makes sense.
