F.A.QWhy join the 1stRVR?
The 1st Royal Victoria Regiment is more than just a group of people who come together to play military games. It is a community of like-minded gamers who want to experience a level of gameplay above what is possible in most other games, or on public servers. It is a group that cares about tactics, authentic simulated combat, and serious fun. We know that quality surpasses quantity any day of the week and we each do our part to ensure that the group as a whole, and the experiences we have in it, are the best they can possibly be. If you're looking to be actually in an organized group that is more than just a get together of people for one night a week, join us.
If you're looking to actually earn your place as a member, where your rank actually means something, where your awards and achievements aren't just pieces of virtual colour as they actually have been earned, where the people you play with will actually enjoy the time in the clan, where you can count on your leaders to battle for you and look after you. What you do will actually mean something. Your actions will be honored, your dedication will be acknowledged and your skill will be recognised. You as a person in the regiment, are not another number on our rosters or just another recruit, you are a member of the 1stRVR. Can I join at 14 instead of 15?
Probably not. There is some talk of creating a 'Cadet' Company for people who don't meet our age requirement. At this current time though, no.What are your people like?
We strive for a high degree of competency in our playerbase insofar as leadership goes, as well as pride ourselves on how well our non-leading players will follow orders and conduct themselves in any given battle. Opportunities for leadership are plentiful, both at the start of the battle in the form of platoon leaders, section leaders and detachment leaders, as well as in-battle resulting from casualties (and believe me, we are not invincible – you will definitely get to step up to a leadership billet at some point from casualties). You will find that a Victorian Platoon will follow you without hesitation into even the most absurdly “virtually dangerous” situations, as we’re all in it for a good time, and a glorious virtual death can be a hell of a lot of fun! What if I can't make an event?
Real life takes over. I have a life as well, this is just some fun in the spare time! We don't want you feeling like you 'have to come', we want you to be waiting that next night after the event feeling like 'I CANT WAIT FOR NEXT EVENT' We want you to come have fun, if you're no longer having fun, tell whoever is in charge of you and we'll let you free.
If you have to pick the kids up from school, need to do some homework, have exams, have work or any other responsibilities, we want you to make them your priority. All we ask that you inform whoever it is that is in your Chain of Command.
