If you play NW for historical accuracy then faces are the least of your worries.
That's the thing, I don't. Or stopped doing so a long time ago.

The problem is you can't make a game 100% historically accurate as it won't work, it will get boring and repetitive. Just by having a little customisation it adds player interaction that a simulator game may not give. Like Nick said, at the end of the day it is up to the Devs.

I'd consider it refreshing when out of no where you see the oddest looking face in the entire fricken world next to a bunch of normal ones. Also, it lets you remember specific people who make very very abstract faces!

That's the thing though, it isn't just out of no where and next to a bunch of normal faces. It catches on until you have groups of people with "le may-may faces xdddddDDDDDD!!!!11!11!1"
