I the game would allow the "create your reg." thing there would be dozens of troll regiments walking in pink uniforms and with "69" on backpacks

Or even, especially for British infantry regiments, allowing you to select what colour of facings/epaulettes your unit has depending on what regiment  you are. IE, Buff facings and silver epaulettes for the 3rd.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea really, rather than creating a million different regiments just let players choose from a selection of badges, lace, epaulette styles and jacket colours. Throw in a few different types of breeches and head gear for soldiers and officers and you could pull it off.

Really though it all comes down to the memory limit though.

The Fresh Emperor of France: In west Corsica born and raised, In the Tuileries Palace was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' annexin' all cool and all, Shooting some Spaniards outside of the Madrid
When a couple of Austrians who were up to no good, Started invading allies in my neighborhood
I got in one little war and Britain got scared and said, "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Saint Helena."

Like with the template example, would people mind if their plates on their head gear and belts were just client side and in game they are just generic ciphers?

People can't seem to make up their mind if they're worried about not being able to run the game or if they want the devs to added extremely system intensive features.

Yeah creating a regiment would be cool. But, is there still going to be an option for picking a troop/class of the faction you are playing on? (kind of like NW)

My thoughts about this is to make a few classes: Line, Gren, Guard, Light and Skirm classes. You pick your class as the unit you play as so the 95th picks rifles ofcourse and the 42nd center comp. takes line infantry class. Depending on the faction ofcourse is the weaponry that should be given.

How ever when you look at the french side for normall line infantry only the NCO had a sabre briquete so yeah... Perhaps within those classes aswell the stuff for nco, flag bearer, officer and mussicians :)

I hope there will be Highlanders/Scotsmen.

Or some lowland infantry, like the Royal Scots or 25th Regiment, that would be cool!
