Water to Ammo?

Will we lose our ability to fire our muskets if we go into the water like in.... NW?
*Royal ancient edgy quotation said by some old war hero to symbolize edgyness here*

I think it would be pretty realistic. Maybe make it as a turn off and on option for the server administration pannel.

How about water ruins both cartridges and loaded shots. So if you went waist deep in water, your cartridges would get ruined like in NW, and if water touched the pan of your gun then your shot would be ruined too, so blocking up when going through water wouldn't be useless like in NW.

I don't think that this should be option, if you enter the water your equipment is wet and wont work end of.

Cartridges were made with greased paper specifically to be water-proof. Or at least water-resistant.

MY OPINIONS DO NOT REFLECT THOSE OF THE DEVELOPERS, AT LEAST IN REGARDS TO INFORMATION ABOUT THE GAME!

I assume he means by them getting utterly soaked though as in somehow you've fallen from your boat trying to board a frigate or be knocked into the water.

Unless you just die when you hit the water.

Agreed they were water-resistant but only to an extent, in a cartridge pouch (also water resistant to a limit) they would certainly last a battle in rain but would never survive being submerged in water. Crates of ammunition had to be constantly checked to ensure damp didn't set in which could ruin a supply wagon.

Soldiers that wade in water with their cartridges at waste level should certainly lose them.

Aha! now all we need is an option for raising your musket so at least you save the cartridge in the barrel! [NW reference]

I was thinking this aha, seeing lines holding their muskets up over rivers, either they knew it didn't work and were just roleplaying or were genuinly in belief they were saving their shots  ;D

Yeah, in NW, you would never lose the shot already loaded in your musket, even if you jumped off the dock and were submerged past your head. You could even fire your musket under water.

Firing your shot underwater, some next level waterproofing they had back then 😂
