ABOUT THE 1ST
The 1st Royal Victoria Regiment is a military simulation unit that enforces a realistic type approach to the game of Holdfast: Nations at War. 1stRVR emulates real life British Soldiers, both in gameplay and training. Our gameplay is a mixture of anything from Line Battles to Assaults by land or by sea. The 1st Battalion (1stRVR) of the Royal Victoria Regiment is an international regiment that is focused on military aspects. As a Mil-Sim regiment we are orientated towards the military meaning we use courtesies and such in-game. The regiment was founded on April 21st, 2017 by Exodus with just a website and a forum thread. What soon came from a small unit was a thriving clan that transformed the 1st.
1st Royal Victoria Regiment emulates real life British Soldiers including Australian & New Zealand, both in gameplay and training. Our gameplay is a mixture of anything from Line Battles to Assaults by land or by sea. 1stRVR uses historical & realistic tactics used by the British Army during the Napoleonic Wars. These tactics provide realistic gameplay & setting allowing the players to really enjoy the experience. 1stRVR has a gameplay schedule that offers a variety of events to our members almost every day of the week. Our events are not mandatory, but are hosted as most of our community do enjoy playing in their free time, whenever that is. The regiment is infantry focused however with interest will come detachments. These detachments could include the following: Skirmishers ('rifles'), Cavalry, Naval, Foot Guards & Artillery. The Battalion Officer's together have over a decade worth of experience in clans whilst our Non-Commissioned Officers are able to manage, train and fight with their soldiers. Soldiers must meet our requirements to join our ranks as we believe exclusivity is the key.
"Quality over Quantity"
When entering the regiment you'll become a Recruit until Basic Training also known as Recruit Training is completed with the three parts with all passes assessed by your Recruit Instructor on the 1st & 15th of each month. We believe that progression is important and instead of staying stagnant; taking on a new role or rank is a possibility within our unit. We offer our players the ability to decide what they'd like to do with us, with Officer approval of course. With that we have developed a few neat systems which include our Promotion System, Profile System, Awards System & our Roles + Detachments Program. These will be all defined at a later date but just remember, if you get bored or jaded of the game, there's so many other possibilities and room for progression within our thriving unit. Please understand that we are a milsim clan meaning in-game military courtesies are expected, out of game, it's unwanted! We tend to stay away from the RP side of things, so don't expect us to talk about the politics at the time but do expect us to be serious.
"Through mateship, we aim to be unique."
The 1st Royal Victoria Regiment was inspired by the 5th/6th Royal Victoria Regiment. The 5th/6th Battalion ("5/6 RVR") is one of two battalions of the Royal Victoria Regiment, and is an infantry battalion of the Australian Army Reserve. The battalion can trace its lineage back to many units that existed prior to Federation, as well as units that fought during World War I and World War II and the battalion carries the battle honours of these units as a mark of respect. Today 5/6 RVR is part of the 4th Brigade, 2nd Division and is based at various depots around Melbourne, Victoria. Recently, members from the battalion have been involved in deployments to the Middle East, East Timor, the Solomon Islands and Malaysia as part of Rifle Company Butterworth. The leaders of the 1st chose to not go under the 5th/6th out of respect for the serving members past and present. We would feel that it would be disrespectful to even consider calling ourselves the 5th or 6th RVR and have not earned the title of Australian Soldiers, especially Infantry. In our own way, we decided in respect of these men to go with the name but as a fictional regiment based of the 5/6 which we believe is the best option.
As this is a fictional regiment with the real RVR not being created until 1854, we have aligned ourselves with the British Empire, being an Australian Regiment to begin with.
One thing we do like to make clear here in the 1stRVR, is we are not just a regiment, we are a community, and we do things on the side not only on PC but IOS & Consoles as well.
