Regimental Name/Number Requisitions Thread
« on: October 14, 2017, 05:23:22 am »
With so many abandoned regiment threads littering this section, there have been several users eager to claim a name that seems to be claimed but not used, inquiring through private messages. As a result, the more cautious user who waits for a proper response might lose his chance to claim a newly available name or number because a less careful user brazenly created a thread without checking. Proving precedence to the community is difficult when one's inquiries are made in private. So the purpose of this thread is to make inquiries about a dead regiment's name publicly. This will ensure their claim is protected when permission is granted and also allow multiple moderators to participate in the investigations of inactive users and their threads.

When making a request, please include a link to the thread(s) or user(s) in question who's unit you believe is inactive and would like to use for your own. As per the forum rules, a week must be afforded to the challenged user before he/she forfeits their unit's name, so please be patient if your request seems slow.

Since the other 4th hasn't had anything on their post in over a week, and I've gotten into the Regiment Leaders Board, can I finally have my full claim?

Their thread: http://www.holdfastgame.com/forum/index.php?topic=1747.0

Thanks

I'm looking to start a regiment called the 45e for Light Inf. I think there is a 45eme for line infantry on the French side. Is that likely to cause a problem?

Announce!

The 82nd Regiment is reserved by me and is still an active name, and we offer it against those who want to use it;

  1. Opening battalion or company for European-based players.
  2. Opening battalion or company for American players.
  3. Opening battalion or company for South American players.
  4. At the same time we are open at the battalion level for those who want to think internationally.

What you, Bluehawk did not make clear to most is that the number does not matter when it comes down to a regiment being reserved. Instead it based on the name coming after it. So we can have have a bunch of '4th' with some silly names. It SHOULD be based on numbers. cant run out of them. This policy is unclear and confusing to many. Does not clarify what exactly 'name' is part of.

Lovely day for it.

The Australian 42nd Regiment of Foot is inactive*/"in a hiatus" and hasn't had any posts on their thread for a month. All their members are playing with other regiments and don't even wear 42nd tags in-game. Certainly no grudge is held by anybody here, but we would like the full claim since we are, unlike them, active, hosting events,- the entire ordeal. And, to be horrendously frank, we don't need people confusing us with Australians.

* and has been since quite literally always, as far as I am aware.

Cheers, thanks for looking into it.

Hello, leader of the first and active 42nd here, just wanted to confirm that this is indeed a request from the entire 42nd Regiment of Foot. Mundy just wrote this for us.

Regiments de ligne and légère can share the same number.

Lovely day for it.

I would like to start the 96th Regiment of Foot. I didn't see the regiment name taken but I just wanted to make sure.
