We are a new regiment that is mainly formed of players from Scotland (GMT-0), though we accept recruits from anywhere as long as they’re able to make some of our session times.
If you’re looking for a mature regiment that aims to hold regular training and events, then look no further. We currently have 10 members with others enlisting. Will you be one of them!?
The regiment is a light infantry unit which will focus on accuracy and drill. Not for us is the dying in our hundreds charging a cannon head-on! Well, most of the time anyway.
Founded in 1747 from Jacobite exiles, the Garde Écosse served the French monarchy loyally. Following the revolution of 1789, the officer corps was purged and replaced with those loyal to the ideals of the Revolution.
Formed mostly nowadays of exiled Scottish radicals and followers of Thomas Muir, the 45e are committed supporters of the Revolution and the Emperor who now safeguards those principles, having served with distinction at Valmy (1791), Neerwinden (1793) and Tourcoing (1794).
Reformed in 1791 following the constitutional convention as a light infantry regiment, the 45e Régiment d'Infanterie Légère exemplify the latest tactics and discipline of modern warfare.
Despite having a reputation for discipline and loyalty, in practice the regiment, out of necessity, has attracted a range of recruits of various nationalities and backgrounds. It has become the home of more than one scoundrel fleeing his nation's justice.
Like the Polish Dąbrowski Legions, many in the regiment fight for Napoleon in the hope that they can one day guarantee their homeland's freedom from tyranny.
They hold fast to the regiment's motto; "Is fhearr fheuchainn na bhith san duil", "it is better to try than to hope".
As a regiment we will have weekly training sessions on Wednesday evenings and forays into the public servers on other days. We will also organise regular events with other regiments. We get that people have busy lives, so we’re happy for folk to drop in and out as they are able to though giving us notice helps.
There will only be a basic rank structure in place as we start out to ensure that there is room for promotion for those new recruits who are keen and devote time to the regiment. As a basic rule the difference between NCOs and Officers is that Officers will be expected to be more active in recruitment and admin.
The only real rule we have in the regiment is ‘Don’t be a dick’. We don’t accept racist/sexist/homophobic or any other kind of abuse and general trolling will be handled quickly, we’re all here to have fun and don’t have time for that.
