I've tried to run this game on truly potato pc.

Windows 10 64bit
i3-540
8gigs of ram
gt 240 1 gig variant

20fps on on very low. This pretty much what I expected. But, there is no land texture and everything on naval maps looks like black mess.

You are trying to the run the game on a GPU that does not have DX11 support, therefore all the geometry that uses shaders that require DX11 (I.e. almost all) can not be rendered.

Great, guess there goes Holdfast for many people then :D

Integrated graphics cards like the Intel Graphics 4600 are unfortunately not made for gaming. They are made to use your PC for browsing, watching HD videos and working in MS office. No modern game will run on them, most old games won't even get a good FPS.

Olafson is correct, a lot of modern games will not run or run well at all if you don't have a dedicated GPU. It's not just a Holdfast thing.

I just noticed changing resolution to even the smallest doesnt add fps. Also changing from Medium to Very Low makes a difference in only about 2-3 fps

Yes, this is what I noticed as well. I'm getting pretty awful performance with my setup (see signature) at times. Thing is: performance is fine the first 5-10 minutes of a round on a 126-player server (locked 60), but after that my fps keeps dropping to 40-45 when looking towards the battlefield (read: where the most players are). When that happens, I can change all the settings I want, but nothing seems to help: grass settings, ragdoll settings, shadows, LOD settings > none of them make a difference once performance has been impacted. One time I even dropped the resolution down to 720p to see what would happen, and performance was exactly the same. And I've tried using the lowest preset, just like you did, a couple of times, but performance did not improve one bit.

It's also not map-specific, because this happens on all maps (again, on a 126-player server). Also: CPU and GPU utilization is never maxed out; CPU doesn't exceed 70% and GPU (I don't have the exact numbers on that) never hits 100%, so it doesn't seem to be a CPU/GPU bottleneck of some sorts.

I'm not sure how I could be of help to the devs, though. Is there some kind log they can have a look at?

Intel core i7-4270HQ CPU @2,6GHz
12Gb RAM
Windows 10 64bit
Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M 4gb

I'm getting 6-15 fps on most maps/servers, changing video settings does nothing, I don't understand, is it because I'm on a laptop? Because I don't feel like I have a bad gaming PC. Memory usage is really high, reaching 2000+MB with the total being around 56% total memory usage.

EDIT: Server lag is definely a part of it, although not the hole problem, since the maximum I got was about 25 fps on best ping servers

"Good" to see it's not an isolated problem on my part, so hopefully the devs can track down the issue.

I was away for a couple of days, did any of the patches fix fps issues for any of you?

A couple things i did to reduce heat on my old i5 650 @ 3.2mhz cpu.

My cpu was frying. First few times i played saw the temp peak at 96C.  99% usage!  ..., not good.

-First, turned off 'Turbo Boost' in Bios. --This lowered wattage from 83w to 73w.
-Second, thru CP//system//advanced system setting//performance//setting//advanced tab for,
" Adjust for best performance of:" Background Services. (changed from 'Programs')

Between the two tweaks got temps down into mid-60sC. at 88% usage.
Mid-60s is still rather high. Plan to re-paste the heatsink, it is quite old.

In the end, lowered max power setting to 93%, or 60watts.
I5 650 is running the game at 60C., 89% cpu usage.

Can live with that. Frames are steady at 30fps limit.
