marching and running
« on: March 07, 2018, 10:24:32 pm »
So especially for regiment members this is something that can be quite annoying.
There is no indicator to show if one is marching or running which can be quite
important at times when moving in a line so one of my men (Slypup) had an idea and I
want to share it with you guys as I think it could be a great addition to the game.
When in march-mode the ingame character could shoulder his musket which
would indicate that you are marching.
It would not only help with formations but it would probably improve imersion aswell.

So please go ahead and tell me what you think of it in the replies below
Best regards,

Very good idea!!! Or at least something in the top left under the health bar that shows whether you are marching or running

I agree, that's a useful animation change. Good suggestion John Cuttler!

I agree with this. I also mentioned it in my post on emotes and enimations here: http://www.holdfastgame.com/forum/index.php?topic=2246.0

However, the reason why shouldering arms is not already in the game is because of the following: The dev team originally planned on releasing the game with a proper shoulder arms animation but the game engine, for whatever reason, would make framerates drop substantially, making the game unplayable. AGS couldn't fix it in time and had to stick to the default animation of holding the musket out.

+1 still :)
