So everyone pretty much agrees at this point that Surgeons should receive points for healing other players, but that doesn't exactly make them relevant.

My Suggestion:
If you accomplish an "Enemy Hit (+10)" - your target is hit and loses X amount of health, and continues to bleed out over time. A surgeon must tend to any wounded player within Y amount of time before the player bleeds out completely to death.

Gives an actual reason to deploy surgeons, causes players to be a little more careful, and actually gives Surgeons a legitimate purpose - since like a solid 70% of current shots are killshots.

This is a really great idea. The only problem I see with that Bayles is that some hits are near fatal as in the player's health bar is decreased to almost zero. That would give no chance for the player to find a surgeon. One fix could be that all hits that don't kill do only half damage thereby giving surgeons ample time to save them.

This was implemented in a few Warband mods (Probably most notably Iron Europe), and people hated it which pretty much killed the mods. The problem is that no one wants to go surgeon (because it's really not that fun), so as soon as any little thing touches you you're as good as dead.

The Bleed out mechanic should be changed for both publics and hardcore. (The following are suggestions for what could be balanced) If you are wounded then you should receive a penalty, such as decreased accuracy / slower reloads / slower melee to give the player a punishment for not being healed. The more wounded you are the more of a penalty you get, thus you are bleeding out and need to seek medical aid.

In publics that penalty alone would have someone seek out medical aid. In hardcore however as you bleed and get penalties the biggest penalty is when you bleed out completely and thus die. The current issue with most AUX is that not many people play them for the purpose they need to. If people did bleed out then more people would play surgeon to assist. the same for Musicians for their intended re-work on the road map.

TL:DR As you bleed you should get penalties, and in hardcore line battles the end result of bleeding should be death.

I think this is the best compromise for adding it. In linebattles there are very few surgeons, as it's not like each line will have one (which would be necessary) so it would be annoying getting shot from across the map and dying.

I'd be all for it, the N&S community LOVED IT on M&B.
I personally also love it, adds a reason to go surgeon.
