You need to pay someone to make them... And it is really difficult to explain to someone that has no idea about the period to make something correct. I guess it would be even more difficult for the HF team, because they know not much about the period.
You also need to somehow combine the animations with gameplay and make them work in the game, which in many cases is very difficult.
Finding good references is also extremely difficult unless you can make your own.

They know a lot about the period lmao, just ask Jackson.

Ok, sorry. I expressed myself wrong. Should have said AGS, not HF team.

Believe me, I've been there. We had to redo almost every animation and model for BCoF because we did not know much about the period and research in general.
We wrote about that in one of our blogs: https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=40157.0

AGS doesn't even know that there was no Prussian Empire and that Prussia did not have a "Kaiser", so I bet you that for them it is even more difficult to find the correct references, than it was for us in 2012.

In any case, I must admit that seeing the latest news on the blog "Battle cry of freedom" it really gives pleasure when I see the animations, the position of the musket, the recharges etc. It's great work and I hope the Holdfast team will make improvements to do as well, see better if possible (I know I'm optimistic, but nothing is impossible to the one who gives it the means  ;) )
