everything above with 3rd person still enabled would be fantastic, no stupid kill cams or being able to zoom around the map to see where everyone is positioned. I couldn't think of anything that would make a skirmisher more happy.

Normal game mode = not blood loss head banners and stuff
Hardcore game mode = blood loss no head banners stamina and stuff

Although I don't like the idea of having it as default mode. Don't get me wrong, I would like the hardcore mode to be the dominant mode once the game is released, but I think it would scare new players. It'll be better to use normal mode as "noob" mode to teach new players the basics before having them move on to grown-up mode. More players means bigger, more interesting line battles anyway so ;)

Red Orchestra 2 have mostly only hardcore servers and even new fresh players are playing on them. Maybe use hardcore game mode on special RP/HC servers and for regiments.

I would love to see this. But as a specific gamemode and not as the default gamemode.

Never played Red Orchestra 2, but I'm a willing to believe you. I don't mind having it as default mode, although the devs have the final say on everything ;)

Indeed, me and people who are more historically inclined also have my vote for it to be the default mode.

I would like to see that as optional. I personally would dislike it if i was forced to play 1st person in hardcore. But ofcource thats my taste.

Well, the point of hardcore mode is to be as realistic as possible. In the real Napoleonic Wars, soldiers couldn't run around without getting tired, couldn't see their health bar, and couldn't shoot in third-person. It only makes sense to have the stamina bar and first-person view mandatory, and to remove the health bar.

The health bar inclusion/exclusion is a bit arbitrary. You either die straightaway or you die after receiving a second lot of damage. For the most part a player doesn't have to manage his health. He's either dead or will expect to be dead if injured again.

Fall damage and recovered health do play small factors but not enough to really warrant the inclusion/exclusion of the health bar.
