Bear (Big Hat with hair what modern people call it) $150

Waistcoat($100)
Regimental (Red Coat) (300-400)
Breaches W Socks ($175)
Shoes ($150)
Tent With Everything ($750)
Odds and Ends for Military Grade Reenacting ($600-750)
Driving Costs (100 Each W eating at a join on the way)
Dues each year (20)
Insurance Costs (20)

Yeah It is pretty small community. But, we are always looking for some more members. The only generation actually keeping it steady is some of the reenactors children or grandchildren. I was part of the 20-25% of the enlistee's

Takes place in all of the 13 colony locations all over the east coast of America. I do the His Majesy's 42nd Black Watch Grenadiers. and the 77th Motgomery's Highlanders. And out main station is masted in Pennsylvania. So,  Occasionally we will do one far down south in South Carolina or North Carolina. But, most of the HUGE HUGE ones are in the North. Like Brandywine, Monomouth, Bunker Hill, We also do Bushy run for F&I. But it's all in the north. My Personal favorite one to go to is Mt. Vernon Virginia Washington's Homestead. It's just all way beautiful location to go to as it is right on the mouth of a huge river. Also that one gets a lot of reenactors to it and you can meet new people.

Also the Red Coat and the Kilt do get the ladies. They don't think of us as nerds or weird people. I got like 50+ Selfies from girls. At the time I was single and ready to mingle. But, it's also really great to talk to other school's history teachers and their pupils because I always teach them a little something new every time about the uniforms and such.

I do F&I as well as 1812 but stick mostly to the Midwest. Married "Into" the 1st Royals, which is a bit odd as a french allied Native. Which was much cheaper to start out as! My Musket was my biggest purchase. My Wedge with all the trimmings was only $300 and change. Most everything else was made by hand. Lately I just go as a civilian so as not to get so much attention.

I think if I were to build another kit beyond what I'm working on right now, (WWII British and 1929 Reichsheer) it'd be Rev War Hessen.

But yeah, for anyone looking at getting into reenacting - I will say it is not cheap in the slightest. Don't expect it to be. However, after your first event you won't care how much it costs. It's a sickness. ;) But seriously, more than 6 months without an event and I start to go insane. I get that itch for wool rather than being itched by it. :P
