Title: An offline game option?
Post by: Absol on January 12, 2018, 03:50:53 am
What I'd like to see is just an offline option to load maps and run around for testing purposes, not with players or bots or anything. (Although bots would be cool later on...)

I would like to see this as well! Even though some regiments (Or most), own a private server, being able to change the map whenever you want is still bound to the server admin. +1

And maybe possibility to spawn dummies-like-NPC to have a target? :)

Yeah, I would like to see that, just to figure out damage and effective range and things.

For the release version a training map would be nice, M&B had a nice one, just a map with a range would be nice already.

A map editor will likely be before full release, which will be awesome, that way, regiments can make their own maps!

I was talking to Refleax and he said there is also a possibility of users being able model new objects and upload them to the Steam Workshop for others to subscribe to and use in the map editor ;)

I would love this, and I would also like to see bot survival games modes as well.

Not a bad idea, though with how demanding running a server can be on your machine (not to mention bots), it might be far off.

It wouldn't be hosting a server, just loading a map.

It would be very much like hosting a server if you wanted to have bots. We sometimes put bots on our servers for fun and they can very easily cause a crash.

But the map editor might be something like the botless/playerless map.

I do miss bot survival from NW. My favorite mode.

Yes Bot Campaign mode, and co-op play for Regiments. With a strategy map, hello we are all TW players here.
