As far as I know we haven't had any developers talk about melee yet. I highly doubt chambers are going to be a thing though.

A parry system would be good.

Why wouldn't chambers be a thing? The melee system in NW was what made the game entertaining for a lot of the players. Hopefully, they'll implement a good and advanced melee system.

I would like to see parries and ripostes with proper animations in the game and integrated into a combat tutorial (if there will be one) so that new players don't have to scour the forums to learn how to perform it, and so that the timing of a parry is more intuitive. Chambering in Warband is practically treated like a legitimized glitch - like rocket-jumping was in Quake - but that could be corrected or avoided in Holdfast, since the combat is practically being built from scratch on a new engine.

Well said Bluehawk.

Its a bug with melee that never got fixed because development for NW halted. So you can't really justify adding it into a new game just to satisfy the people that loved it too much.

Chambering isn't a bug, it's just a feature Taleworlds is ashamed of and never really told anyone about.

John Price the speaker of truth!

Now I'm not necessarily talking about chambering but it could be cool if some sort of counter attack to a attack could be implemented, however it'd revolve around very precise timing and skill to pull it off like I'm talking right down to the second kind of timing and very precise rifle/musket placement, it'd be very risky to try and attempt it but if you succeeded it'd pay off.

(I've probably just described chambering right there lmao feel free to roast me in the replies)

As I just said, it's not a bug. Taleworlds have confirmed that.
