Hello All, This is the first post about Ships and I Enjoy the Age of sail and I would hope the ship mechanics and good.

But we can Discuss anything in here like how will you choose the ship or will it spawn on the map like in NW or will you deploy on it or move out in a shipyard. There are some many ways the devs can take this it would be amazing.

The good old Harris from the Sharpe series. It looks like we have a common interest there.

We'll be going into more detail on the ship mechanics that are already in and what we have planned for the game in our developer blogs.

In terms of the Naval section of the game will we get to see a nice variety of well known British and French Rates?

Would be cool to see such ships as the Victory, L'OCean, Surprise etc ingame.

Perhaps having each Rate require more men by comparison and maybe the largest of battles is between 2 1st rates for example.

Be interesting to know what plans you have for combating naval combat!

Thanks for the response Refleax. I was Just thinking about Blackwake and if that might deter some people from Holdfast:NaW but this seems to be on a much larger scale.

Etherton I like your thinking would be awesome to have like the HMS Victory with like 100-200 crewman and have a boarding battle against the French.

Currently only seen small single deckers in the trailers so here's hoping for some bigger double deckers or even pushing it for triple!

An idea could be a gamemode within the Naval section similar to that of Battlefield 2142. A titan mode if you will, could have 4 frigates per team and also a 1st rate ship of the line for each team as its 'titan' or 'Flagship' to be more in tune. That ship would be the enemy teams target to destroy. Either by Destroying the Flagship or boarding and capturing it perhaps by raising your colours your team wins the game. May require a sizeable amount of players but that depends on the games desired size, could use a 2nd/3rd maybe even a 4th rate as the flagship and maybe even drop down to 6th rates as the main team size
