Favourite general regardless of merit, of all time?
« on: May 18, 2018, 10:21:05 pm »
So as the title says, who's your favourite General/ Commander ever?

My personal choice would be Scipio Africanus since he was the only general who ever won over Hannibal. A general that made the Roman Republic buckle, and almost break. The Fabian strategy which has been used many times over in warfare was also developed because of the huge threat he posed in a pitched battle.

So I ask you, who would you pick as your personal favourite, doesn't matter the level of genius the commander has, he may just have been so utterly incompetent that the story of him has become laughable.

Mine would be Erwin Rommel I think. If I were a general myself, Rommel would be the last guy I would want to face in battle. Also his nickname ''the desert fox'' and the fact that he's well known for his use of panzers make him awesome in my eyes.

I say let's kill him.
Let's have tea first.
Oh, stop your whining. First we kill him, then we have biscuits and tea.
