these are austrian ranks only invented for the austrian federal army of today.
Imperial Austria however didnt have any such Icons until the mid 1800s.
Back in the day when the austrians fought the french each rank was not really visible by looking at the uniforms. Only by spotting certain equipment one could guess an austrian soldiers rank. There were things called "portepees" aka "Faustriemen" which were actually created in the renaissance era to ensure a sword combatant not to loose his sword since he was able to tie the portepee to his sword and swordhand. Later it was used as some sort of rank identifictation. Even the wehrmacht wore it.
Different colours ment different functions (e.g. officers, ncos...)
Otherwhise also the headwear played an important role. By 1810 the austrian infantry wore shakos. Officers had yellow stripes at the top, the amount and thickness of it displaying the officers rank.
There were various other things which displayed certain ranks, however such "icons" are not accurate.
Learning about the austrian ranks is very interesting, maybe you also try to enhance you knowledge, good luck (;
